Author Guidelines
Thank you for choosing Tinombala: Journal of Social Sciences and Education. To ensure a smooth review process, please follow these instructions carefully. Manuscripts that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned for technical revision prior to peer review.
1. Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting, authors must ensure:
- The manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration by another journal.
- The file is in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
- The manuscript has been anonymized (all author names, affiliations, and identifying metadata removed) to ensure a double-blind peer-review process.
- The similarity index is below 20% (checked using Turnitin or a comparable tool).
2. Manuscript Structure
Articles should be between 5,000 and 7,000 words (including references and tables). The manuscript should be organized as follows:
- Title: Concise and informative (maximum 15 words).
- Abstract: A single paragraph of 150–200 words, clearly stating the research objective, methodology, key findings, and implications for social sciences and education.
- Keywords: 3–5 specific terms for indexing.
- Introduction: Present the research problem, provide social and educational context, review relevant literature, and state the research objective.
- Methods: Describe participants (e.g., students, teachers, or communities), research setting, data collection instruments, and analytical procedures.
- Results and Discussion: Present findings clearly and interpret them using relevant social science theories or educational frameworks.
- Conclusion: Summarize key findings, acknowledge limitations, and provide practical implications for educators, policymakers, or communities.
- References: Minimum of 15 sources, with at least 80% from recent peer-reviewed journals (last 5 years).
3. Guidelines for Research Content
To ensure academic rigor and relevance, authors are encouraged to consider the following:
- Educational Practice and Action Research: Manuscripts focusing on classroom or community-based practice should include a clear reflection on the implementation process, including challenges and outcomes.
- Social and Cultural Analysis: Empirical data (e.g., interview excerpts, field notes, or discourse samples) should be clearly formatted (indented or italicized) for readability and analytical clarity.
- Technology-Enhanced Learning: Studies involving digital tools or platforms should clearly explain their pedagogical contribution and impact on learning processes.
4. Technical Formatting
- Font: Book Antiqua, 12 pt
- Line Spacing: 1.15 or 1.5
- Margins: 1.5 cm on all sides
- Headings: Maximum three levels (e.g., 1., 1.1, 1.1.1)
5. Citations and References
Tinombala follows the APA Style (7th Edition).
- In-text citations: (Author, Year) or (Author, Year, p. xx)

6. Language Requirement
All manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically accurate, and academically appropriate English to support international scholarly communication.
7. Ethics and Consent
Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained for all research involving human participants. For studies involving students or communities, ethical considerations must be clearly stated. Any visual data must ensure participant anonymity unless explicit permission has been granted.
